WOW! Simply fantastic, as always! The chin bit does seem a bit awkward, perhaps because the lower half of the face is seen from under, but the eyes and forehead look like seen horizontally, if you see what I mean. Anyway, this page is brilliant! I love the background, and it seems like a fight is coming up..:)
I also prefer the black page background.
Keep going, chris, it gets better every page!!!

Someone said once your fan club wasn't very objective, I try to be so and I put an eight because of the faces, a little inferior compared to previous pages. I know of course this is not easy :).
Apart from that, Laiyo's posture on second pic is really great, and the scenery is still beautiful.
About the dialogue now, referring to Zick's comment, well I think our heros have feelings, that's why Egan says he loves the landscape. And Laiyo doesn't "know it all" because he feels like he is watched. We know almost nothing about them, it seems Laiyo is the wise guy here, and so ?
Do you remember Laiyo's pain about the past (Alan's death) ? He knows he has to learn, and he doesn't feel comfortable with their quest. And personnally, I think everyone on this planet has to learn...

I'm not quite sure how the rating thing goes, but I think you have put your talents and tools to good use. I like the color scheme for the background, using the warm oranges and golds is very effective for setting a mood. The black matting for the frames are very effective and other colors or gradients are used by professional comic book artists. I have found examples of this in the Crossgen and Meridian books. If you haven't seen them, check them out for the art content. Agian, very good work!

Now I understand the thing about the chin... it still seems a bit weird, but I guess it'll get more normal or "natural" when you do more of those kind of angled shots.

This page is absolutely incredible! And I really love the scenery in each frame. The landscape really sets off the mood, and if a fight is coming up (which I really hope, because fight scenes rock), I can see some killer takes with kicking up dust and what not. I also see no problem with the 'camera' angle in the second frame. Actually, coming from a manga artist perspective, you ended up making his face nearly perfect. It's great how you use so many angles in your work, other than the 'lets give them some side shots and front shots only' look. I love it. ^_^ Keep it up Chris, you're getting better and better with each page, not that the last pages are anything to complain about. ^_^

I love the new layout! And I can't wait to see what will happen next. Oh, by the way. When you add new characters to the story, (i.e. the group Laiyos and Egen are to meet up with), are there going to be any girl characters? This may seem a little early for me to suggest , but I think Laiyos deserves a girlfriend. Don't take this the wrong way, but I could deffinately think of some crazy and cool relationships to go with this story. They always add to the characters' personality developements.

Soul_Blade2 : I have no intention to use that name, but you should be careful before using it, cause Soulblade is the name of a very well known 3D fight video game, therefor it's probably copyrighted. If I were you, I'd check it out first.
